The Irish Patchwork
Society celebrated its 35th birthday in 2016.
There are 8 branches around the country with approximately 500 members. Branches hold monthly meetings from September
to June, invite guest speakers and hold in branch
demonstrations, 1/2 day and full day workshops throughout the year.

Every 2 years a sewing retreat is organised by the Society at An Grianan, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth where weekend workshops are offered.
The society exhibits nationally showcasing the members work , annually at the Knitting & Stitching Show in Dublin and every second year with the Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild in a Hands Across the Border exhibit.
As well as regular exhibitions organised at branch level a bi-annual, National exhibit showcasing a theme is also held. The national is being hosted by the Mid- West Branch in 2016 on the theme of Evolution. The exhibit will run from the 12th to the 22nd July at the Limerick School of Art and Design, Clare Street, Limerick and all are welcome!
The IPS is a member
of the European Quilt Association (EQA) and participates in annual challenges
which are exhibited at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham.
Membership of the
Society is €40 annual subscription.
Student rates and International member rates can be found on the
membership form here. Membership
entitles you to attend branch meetings at any of the 8 branches, 4 newsletters
in the form of a quarterly magazine, borrow from the branch libraries, attend
workshops and put forward quilts for exhibition.
Visitors are invited
to attend 2 branch meetings. For
insurance purposes to attend more than 2 meetings membership is required. To join the IPS please fill in this form and
